Laundy Room Progress

Remodeling a laundry with 3 kids, a husband and lots of laundry is not fun. Let me tell you.

So here we are before

Vinyl siding gone. Awesome lapboard wood siding probably with lead paint... still cool though. (I saved the wall under the windows)

Windows gone

Wall gone. Please notice that 4x4 post. It supported the roof line. I had to put a matching 4x4 post next to it to support the weight, remove the old one and move it down 5', to where the end of the door was.  Glad I went to architecture school or I'd probably have a laundry room disaster.

And here is the outside (still need to adjust / move the vinyl siding).

Did I mention this beautiful SOLID WOOD 8' sliding door was FREE. Had to drive an hour to get it, but so worth it.
I will also be wiring another light to go on the right side of the door, so there will be matching lights on both sides.

And onto the inside

Before (realtor shot with fish hook lense that I don't have)

More realistic before

And after.
I will be putting a shelf above dryer, with a large mirror and accessorizing.

I found this AWESOME milk can with a spigot. I'm going to put liquid laundry soap in it, well if the craigslister emails me back. I want it so bad.

And I'll also be putting in this great washboard. Then probably a small tin for dryer lint, a rectangle tin for dryer sheets, and a large vase with flowers.

Eventually we will be  putting stackable washer / dryer where the dryer is and why we didn't put another window on the small wall. Then where the washer / hot water heater (replaced by instant hot) are will be counter space.

Gotta love that bright cheery space to wash the family's clothes.
